Six Wee Waa projects awarded community grants

Wee Waa Small Grants for Health and Wellbeing

Six local health and wellbeing projects have been selected for funding through the Wee Waa Collaborative Care Small Grants initiative, following two weeks of community voting. More than 400 votes were cast by the community to select their favourite ideas.

These community-inspired projects will benefit young and old, and include a community garden, fun and practical workshops for young people, and free local events that build social connection and create opportunities for different generations to connect.

The initiative offered small grants of up to $5,000 for community ideas that support health, wellbeing, and social connection in Wee Waa. A total of $23,000 will be distributed across the six successful projects.

The successful applicants were the Country Women’s Association, Northern Slopes Landcare Association, RiverBank Youth Works, Wee Waa High School Wellbeing Team, Wee Waa Men’s Shed, and Wee Waa Public School.

The winners have until 30 April 2027 to complete their projects.

Many high-quality grant applications were submitted, and unfortunately, not every idea could be funded. The Wee Waa Collaborative Care project group thanks everyone who applied for the Small Grants funding.

Further information about the successful projects can be found on the Wee Waa Collaborative Care webpage at: Wee Waa Small Grants Winners.

The Collaborative Care program is facilitated by RDN Health in partnership with the NSW Ministry of Health, local health providers, and community organisations.
