Purpose

These grants provide money to support community‑led activities that help people feel healthier, more connected, and more aware of local health services.


What are we looking for

Some examples of the types of community-led activities we want to fund:

  • Community gardens,
  • Nutrition programs,
  • Support groups,
  • Walking groups,
  • Wellbeing lunches,
  • And other health and wellbeing activities you want to deliver!

Who Can Apply

You can apply if you are a:

  • Community organisation,
  • Community group (e.g., cultural, youth, seniors),
  • Support group,
  • Sporting group,
  • School,
  • Other local neighbourhood groups.

Please be aware that if you do not have an ABN, your grant will be provided through an auspice from an organisation. We will support you to arrange this.


What Activities Are Eligible?

Activities must:

  • Improve health or wellbeing, build social connection, or share information about health or local services,
  • Be free or low‑cost for participants,
  • Take place in Wee Waa.

We cannot fund:

  • Activities that duplicate services already funded elsewhere,
  • Events where alcohol is a main focus,
  • Projects promoting political or religious conversion,
  • Activities that only benefit one person or a closed membership group.

Grant Amounts & What Can Be Funded

Grant Amount

You can apply for an amount between $500 and $5,000.

You must include a simple budget with your application.


How Many Grants Will Be Awarded

Applications will be assessed against the grant criteria and impact on the community.

A total of $15,000 is available.


Eligible Costs

Grants can be used to fund:

  • Equipment or materials (e.g., garden tools, sports equipment, food supplies),
  • Venue hire,
  • Facilitator fees,
  • Promotion and printing.


Ineligible Costs

Grants cannot be used to fund:

  • Building or construction work,
  • Ongoing organisational running costs,
  • Prizes, gifts, or cash giveaways.

Application Dates

Applications are now open.

Applications will close 30th June 2026.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 24th July 2026.

Grant Conditions

If you receive funding:

  • Your activity will benefit the Wee Waa community,
  • Your activity will be completed before 29 January 2027,
  • You agree to participate in reporting or an interview about your activity.
