Liverpool Plains, these are your chosen community projects!

Four local health and wellbeing projects have been selected for funding through the Liverpool Plains Collaborative Care Small Grants initiative, following community voting. These community-inspired projects will support health and wellbeing across the Liverpool Plains, creating opportunities for connection, participation and active living for people of all ages.

  • Aqua Fit - Move, Connect & Thrive

Kinetic Grind Aqua Fit Liverpool Plains is a 10-week, low-cost community aqua fitness program for 15-20 participants per session bringing the much-loved activity of aqua aerobics to Quirindi. Kinetic Grind is excited to provide the community with an accessible, fun and social way to get moving, improve wellbeing and connect with others throughout the summer months.

  • Active Kids Kickoff Program

Werris Creek Public School will run a pre-class bootcamp every morning, Monday-Friday, for 30 minutes to build students' fitness and stamina. Students will start the day with vigorous physical activity to aid their physical development and encourage positive social interactions with their peers. The students will gain better understanding of building healthy habits for a positive and active lifestyle. It is run voluntarily by school staff.

  • Young At Heart

Young at Heart is a welcoming, low-impact exercise program designed primarily for seniors but open to all, led by a fully qualified trainer to build strength, balance, and confidence. It provides a much-needed local option, giving people access to a service that would otherwise require travelling over an hour. Beyond the physical benefits, it fosters social connection, reduces isolation, and strengthens community wellbeing.

  • St Joseph's School Breakfast Club

The Daily Bread Cafe Breakfast Club will provide no-cost breakfast in a setting where social connections are formed and the pressures of morning routines are lifted for busy working parents. By providing the students of St Joseph's School with a nutritious breakfast, we are ensuring they are set up for a day of successful learning. Three days of each week, we will open the Daily Bread Cafe from 8.30-9.00 am to provide breakfast for the students at our school.

  • Elder's Group Yarn & Fitness Program

The Walhallow Aboriginal Corporation's weekly Elders Group provides a safe cultural space for our Elders to gather every Tuesday to yarn, share their everyday experiences, and connect with their peers. We will introduce a gentle exercise program with an accredited exercise professional, and provide free day trips to participants that will improve their chance for physical activity and social connection.
