Supporting quality, connected early childhood developmental care

Healthcare professionals across the Western Riverina are invited to a Community of Practice networking and education evening in Leeton, focused on supporting quality, connected early childhood developmental care.

The session will explore neurodevelopmental screening in primary care and local supports for children and families. Healthcare professionals will hear practical strategies for identifying common developmental and behavioural concerns in early childhood, navigating referral pathways and connecting families with appropriate services.

Guest speakers include Dr Lahiru Amarasena, Community Paediatrician and Lead of the Enhancing Paediatrics in Primary Care Program, Murrumbidgee, and Jaime-Lee Bray, Paediatric Health Linker with Marathon Health’s WARATAH for Kids Program.

The evening will also include case-based learning and discussion, opportunities to connect with other health professionals across the Western Riverina and a two-course meal.

Event details

Tuesday 27 October 2026, 6.00pm–8.30pm at Lakeside Marquee, Whitton Malt House.

The event is free and is open to GPs, allied health professionals, nurses and other health service providers.

Registrations close 15 October 2026.
