Eight local health and wellbeing projects have been selected for funding through the Leeton Collaborative Care Small Grants initiative, following two weeks of community voting.

These community-inspired projects will benefit people of all ages, with initiatives focused on building healthy habits, strengthening wellbeing, and reducing social isolation.

Maryann Iannelli, the Community Project Officer for the Leeton Collaborative Care Project, said these eight projects showcase a range of creative ideas.

“The support we have received from the Leeton community is just amazing,” Mrs Iannelli said.

“We have projects that build social connection for young children, youth, adults, and older people in our community. Some examples are supporting neurodivergent young people, strengthening wellbeing through community art, creating opportunities for youth connection, and supporting adult social connection through sport.”

The initiative offered small grants of up to $5,000 for community ideas that support health, wellbeing, and social connection in Leeton. A total of $22,800 will be distributed across the eight successful projects. This includes seven projects chosen by the Leeton community and one additional project chosen by the Leeton Collaborative Care Project Group.

The successful applicants were the Leeton Kids Early Learning, Yanco All-Servicemen's Club, Leeton Knitters Group, St Francis de Sales College, Leeton High School, Leeton Show Society, Leeton Youth Council, and Leeton United Football Club.

The winners have until 30 April 2027 to complete their projects.

Many high-quality grant applications were submitted, and unfortunately, not every idea could be funded. The Leeton Collaborative Care project group thanks everyone who applied for the Small Grants funding.
