Workshop Identifies Healthcare Initiatives for Eden

29 May 2026

Thirteen health and community representatives met in Eden on 29 May 2026 to discuss ways to improve health services for the community.

The workshop was hosted by the Collaborative Care Project, and it identified practical actions to work on between now and the end of 2026.

These initiatives include new care navigation services to help locals access the right care, promotion of community grants that support health and wellbeing, joint health education activities, and the introduction of supported telehealth locations throughout the town.

Representatives attended from the Local Health District, Bega Valley Shire Council, Coordinaire, Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council, Eden Access Centre and Grand Pacific Health.

Project Support Officer for Collaborative Care, Mollie Phipps, said the workshop was a valuable opportunity for local organisations to work together.

“The group’s local knowledge and experience helped identify the most important priorities for the community,” Ms Phipps said.

“The ideas and feedback shared during the workshop will help shape the work we do together over the next three years and ensure it reflects local needs.”

Planning has begun on shorter-term initiatives that can be completed before the end of this year.

The Collaborative Care Project aims to strengthen partnerships between local organisations and improve access to health services for people living in the Eden area.

The Program is supported by the NSW Ministry of Health and facilitated by RDN Health. It focuses on helping rural and regional communities access the right health services so people can get healthy and stay healthy.
